It is common for vessels from the Mangbetu to have figurative elements; much more rare for them to be of geometric design. This one has incised lines and dots on the neck with a ridged bulbous body. See Burssens, Mangbetu, African Court Art from Belgian Private Collections, 1992, 74, 49 and 50.
