This whimsical redware pottery vessel is from the Zapotec of Mexico. It
depicts a chubby foot with ankle bones on both sides and a strap handle
applied to the rear of the vessel. It has a brown/red-brown surface with
calcified encrustation and one missing toe. It measures 5-1/8” in length
and is 3” high. Ex private NYC collection. Circa 800-1000 A.D. Early
