8"(20.3 cm) high, 7" (17.7 cm) wide, 10" 25.4 cm) long
19th century
An unusual terracotta mold for a Roman style helmet from Mexico. Helmets in this shape were used in the Centurion's dance and were worn by the dancer representing Longinus, the Centurion who speared Christ. There are some repaired areas visible on the inside.
