Khond people, Orissa, India
Cast bronze
2.75 " (7 cm) high by 1.75" (4.5 cm) wide
Late 19th to early 20th century
Ex. Barbara C. Johnson collection

A man appears ready to fight with his mouth open and nostrils flaring, weilding a sword in his right hand and grasping something long-ago lost in his left. He sports a bracelet on each wrist, a low slung belt and a peaked cap. Made from a clay base with a net-like pattern, he was then cast in bronze.
