Radha, wife of Krishna
India
Lost wax cast bronze
7" (18 cm) high
18th-19th century
#3534

Radha was a one of the gopis (milkmaids or cowherds) who Krishna played and danced with as a child. They developed a divine love and she became his favorite. Some believe her to be an incarnation of Lakshmi. She embodies supreme focus and mental clarity, beauty, intelligence, and good fortune. Here she is portayed in the middle of a voluptuous dance.
