This is a pair of silver Lelbutir (also named Loran) “robot” earrings from Tanimbar, Moluccas. These were used in gift exchanges between the families of bride and groom; this particular type would be given by the family of the ‘wife-takers’ to the family of the ‘wife-givers’.
