Indonesian Tribal Art - Skirt, Maloh Dayak, Borneo


An especially nice example of a beaded skirt from the Maloh Dayak of Borneo. The band of figurative beading is composed of glass beads smaller than any I’ve seen. The skirt measures 19” high by 17” wide and is in impeccable condition. It is lined with a cotton Madras plaid and has red and mustard wool bands along the edges. Please see multiple views below.
