Best known for his woodblock prints of trees, this is a haunting example of his work from 1976. This print is illustrated in plate 354 of “Joichi Hoshi, Catalogue of All Tree Woodblock Prints”, Kato, Tatsuo, Hoshino, Kumeji, Tokyo, 1988. It has not been examined out of the frame, but from all appearances is in mint condition with no apparent foxing or creases.
