This is a shell cache-sex from the Gnau culture of the West Sepik, Papua New Guinea. It was worn by married women and was periodically restrung. The shells are very old as seen by the conical shape of the holes. It measures a full 6.5" wide. Early 20th century. #2240 SOLD |
