These unusual shell ear ornaments are from Collingwood Bay, Papua New Guinea. Connected by 15" of nassa shell studded fiber, the two shell pendants each measure 6" long, including the fringe of spondylus shell disks tipped with dog's teeth. The more recent repairs were done with white string as seen in the photo below. Mid-20th century.
